Questionnaire Survey
You are being invited to participate in a research study titled “ Urban factors affecting the life quality of the elderly in the context of intergenerational communities in the UK”. This study is being conducted by Chuni Pei, a postgraduate student on the MA Urban Design at Cardiff University.
Purpose / academic Rationale
The purpose of the study is to help us understand practitioners' perception of urban factors affecting the life quality of the elderly and thus to propose a design strategy to promote liveable communities for the elderly in UK. The study will consider the views of people who work or have worked in the cohousing sector in the UK. The focus is on the perceived needs of older people and the design considerations of intergenerational communities.
Online Survey
If you agree to take part in this study, you will be asked to participate in a confidential online survey on the Smart Survey Platform.
The questions are split into two sections:
- The perceived needs of the elderly
- The design considerations of intergenerational communities
Who can answer this survey?
- Managers, designers and officers who work/have worked in cohousing sector in the UK
- Healthcare practitioners and social care practitioners
- Other employees related to cohousing or intergenerational housing
Potential Risks of Participation
We believe that there are no known risks associated with this research study. All data collected in this study will be anonymous. The findings of this survey will form part of the organiser's master dissertation and will be published in this context. Information will be presented in summary format and you will not be identified or identifiable in any publications or presentations. All data will be destroyed after completion of the study, in accordance to the university's data protection and management policies.
Voluntary Participation
Any participation in this study is completely voluntary. You can withdraw at any time if you chose to do so.
