The Council adopted its current Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy on 8 December 2014. The policy was subsequently amended on 17th October 2016 and further amendments were approved by full Licensing Committee on 13 June 2018.


It is important that the Council’s policies are kept under review. On 18 March 2025, the Taxi  and other Licensing Committee gave approval to consult on the revised draft policy. 

We are therefore now consulting on the draft policy. For ease of reference, a table outlining the changes made to the policy is available below detailed to read  in conjunction  with this survey.
