Swindon Borough Council and the Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust would like to enter into Section 75 arrangements to support the delivery of an Integrated Sexual Health Service. We understand our residents want and deserve the best possible public services, which protect and improve their health and wellbeing. Section 75 of the NHS Act (2006) identifies flexibilities which enables partnership agreements between the National Health Service (NHS) and local authorities to provide flexibility to respond effectively to improve services, either by joining up existing or developing new, co-ordinated services.
Swindon Borough Council and the GWH have a long standing working relationship for the delivery of public health services to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Swindon. If the proposals being consulted on are supported, Swindon Borough Council and the GWH will use Section 75 of the NHS Act (2006) to put in place formal Section 75 Agreements for the provision of an Integrated Sexual Health Service which includes:
Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) services including an online service
Contraceptive and Reproductive Health Services
Outreach Services
Health promotion
Community Pharmacy Sexual Health Services
Swindon Borough Council and the GWH are keen to hear your comments and feedback on this proposal. We are keen to hear particularly from stakeholders who feel they may be affected by our proposal. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey.
