1. At STFC (being a Council under, and part of, UK Research and Innovation), we intend to make sure that we maintain the UK as a world-leader in science and technology research, development and engagement. Integral to this is our commitment to protecting and safeguarding your data privacy.

It is part of STFC’s public purpose to inspire and involve the public and schools with scientific development and innovation – sharing the curiosity, excitement and ambition that drives us to discover and understand new things and develop technologies that improve our lives. In order to run and evaluate our activities, we need to collect some data about you and what you thought of the activities. We will only send you communications about the STFC Career Challenge, unless you have opted in to join our mailing list.

STFC uses SmartSurvey, a carefully selected UK-based third party service, to manage and hold this data on our behalf. Their privacy policy can be found at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/privacy-policy. The data you input will be deleted from SmartSurvey by 30 September 2021. 

Some of the data will be downloaded to STFC's secure servers.  All data will be kept until 30 September 2022 and then anonymised.  The data will be used to report to the UK Government and within STFC and UKRI. Our privacy policy can be found at https://www.ukri.org/privacy-notice/
