Completing this questionnaire will help improve the way that NHS organisations work together to support people to reduce their risk of having a heart attack or stroke by helping them maintain a healthy blood pressure.
High blood pressure (also called hypertension) can lead to serious problems like heart attacks or strokes (both cardiovascular diseases). There are usually no symptoms, so you may not realise you have it. In fact, according to the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities, one in four people (12.8m) have hypertension and one in thirteen (4.4m) have undiagnosed hypertension and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Moreover, because it often has no symptoms cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of premature death globally, taking an estimated 17.9 million lives each year despite being preventable for most people and easily managed once people’s hypertension is diagnosed.
Responding to this questionnaire is entirely voluntary but your feedback will be used to help make services as accessible and effective as possible. It will also help us ensure vital public health messages successfully reach those who currently have the greatest health needs and those who are most at risk of developing serious illness.
The information you provide will remain confidential and will not allow us to identify you. NHS Gloucestershire will facilitate this survey on behalf of NHS England South West; NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire; NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire; NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly; NHS Devon; NHS Dorset; NHS Gloucestershire and NHS Somerset.
Your feedback will be stored securely and managed in line with GDPR data protection management regulations. It will be shared with people who make decisions about the services the NHS provides including experts in Public Health, communications, commissioning, screening and vaccination teams and the seven Integrated Care Systems listed above.
