Trustee nomination form 2025

 
  • Please read the information in our nomination pack before completing the form. The pack can be read at https://www.ramblers.org.uk/trustees2025
     
  • You must have been an individual member of the Ramblers for at least 12 consecutive months as of 22 February 2025.
     
  • You must be at least 16 years old, and not prevented from acting as a trustee by law (please see the nomination pack for eligibility criteria).
     
  • If you have any questions about the nomination form or the eligibility requirements (which are set by our constitution), please contact Simon Kellas (simon.kellas@ramblers.org.uk) who will be happy to assist.
     
  • This form is for candidates to complete.
     
  • Each nomination also requires support from three proposers who must have been members of the Ramblers for at least three consecutive years as of 22 February 2025. Please invite your proposers to complete the separate proposer confirmation form at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/GC2025proposer.  Alternatively your proposers may send email confirmation of their willingness to propose you directly to simon.kellas@ramblers.org.uk.
     
  • The closing date for receipt of completed nominations is 22 February 2025.

YOUR SUPPORTING STATEMENT
  • Please answer the following questions to outline your relevant skills, knowledge, experience, interest in the work of the Ramblers, and how you could contribute to the board of trustees in delivering our strategic objectives.
     
  • You should include anything relevant that you have gained from employment, volunteering, or lived experiences, and consider those areas set out in the call for nominations where the board has identified a need to strengthen its expertise, skills, or diversify its membership.
     
  • Your statement will not be edited except to format it for inclusion in the General Council AGM papers. Each question is limited to 250 words.

4. Thinking about your professional or learned skills, how would you use these to support the board’s strategic decision making? (up to 250 words)

 

5. What personal insight and understanding about walking and the walking environment will you bring to the board? (up to 250 words)

 

6. Why are you interested in becoming a trustee of the Ramblers? (up to 250 words)

 

7. Please indicate if you are interested in the three-year term vacancies only, the two-year term vacancy only, or both.

 

(At the General Council AGM, where the voting takes place, the ballot for the three three-year term vacancies will be held first and, as required by our constitution, a second, separate ballot will be held following this for the two-year term vacancy. Candidates who have indicated they wish to be considered for both categories of vacancy, but who are unsuccessful in the first (three-year term) ballot, will move forward to the second (two-year term) ballot.)
