Welcome to the nomination form for The Fishing News Awards, which will be recognising achievements over a range of commercial fishing categories.
There are 12 categories in the 2025 Fishing News Awards. Each one recognises excellence within an aspect of commercial fishing in the UK and/or Ireland from January to December 2024.
Each category will result in an award presented in person on 7 May, 2025 at the Chester Hotel in Aberdeen. All nominations need to be received by midnight on Monday, 10 February. Shortlists will then be drawn up before voting opens for eight of the categories. A panel of judges drawn from the fishing industry will decide the winners of Under-15m Boat of the Year, Over-15m Boat of the Year, The Sustainability Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
You can enter on behalf of a friend, colleague or organisation. You can also nominate yourself.
Each category has strict criteria, and you will be asked to provide information in support of your nomination. Please read the criteria carefully, and make sure you tell us as much as possible about the person or organisation you're nominating. We also need their contact information, because we will need to get in touch with them. If you need to leave the survey to find that out, don't worry, you can come back at any time and complete it – just don't click 'Finish Voting' until you've finished.
The shortlisting and voting processes will depend on the strength of the supporting information provided at the nomination stage.
If you only want to nominate in one category, please fill in section one, 'About You', and then skip to your preferred category.
Please do not nominate the same person in the same category multiple times. Duplicate nominations will be excluded. Anyone who has won a category in the last five years is not eligible to be shortlisted in that category.
Once you have nominated in your chosen categories press the 'DONE' button to submit them to us.
