The West Yorkshire Police and Crime Plan is created and published by the Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin. The Police and Crime Plan sets out the strategic direction of West Yorkshire Police, informed by this public consultation. The Mayor was re-elected in May 2024, and this will be her second Plan which will run from 2024 to 2028. The Mayor intends to build on the work undertaken in her first term and the new Police and Crime plan will continue to reflect the views of the people of West Yorkshire.

This survey is your opportunity to tell the Mayor what policing issues matter most to you, so we can bring about long-term lasting change to West Yorkshire. The new Plan will draw on a wide range of information to ensure it reflects the police and crime issues which are affecting West Yorkshire. Listening to the opinions of West Yorkshire's residents and communities is a key part of the Plan’s development.

It is the responsibility of the Mayor of West Yorkshire to set out her priorities for keeping our communities safe in the years ahead. For the Mayor’s second term, as pledged in her manifesto, she will be delivering a Serious Violence Strategy. This is why the next Police and Crime Plan will have a Spotlight on Serious Violence, alongside three key priorities: Keeping People Safe; Safer Places and Thriving Communities; and Supporting Victims and Witnesses.

Your views and the information collected in this survey will be used to ensure the Mayor is focusing activity and funding on the areas of greatest need and of the utmost concern to the people of West Yorkshire.  If you are under the age of 16, please ensure you have the permission of your parent or guardian before completing this survey.
