This survey is about your views on nature in and around the Solent.
Nature makes the Solent a special place which large numbers of people live by, work in or enjoy through recreational activities. However, nature and the natural environment are under considerable pressure in the Solent. There is growing concern that if we don’t reduce the pressures on the natural environment, we will lose valuable aspects of the Solent.
In 2023, a major project, the Solent Seascape Project, was launched to address these concerns. The Project has set out to create a Nature Recovery plan to protect and enhance the Solent’s habitats and species. This survey is an important part of that process as we want to hear the views of people who live, work and play within the Solent, so the plan reflects local hopes and concerns for the natural environment.
The information collected from this survey will help to write a Nature Recovery plan that is fit for purpose and has support from the local communities living and working around the Solent.
All information will be held securely and treated in the strictest confidence. No identifiable information will be shared with project partners or anyone else. Results will be reported overall so that individual responses will not be identifiable.
