8. There is an upcoming mentor pilot which is due to start in January and we are looking for volunteers. This pilot aims to improve social mobility by tackling that perennial issue – if you don’t know someone who already works in the civil service, it is much more difficult to understand what is required at interview, and what it is like to be a civil servant. We want to encourage a wide range of people to apply for jobs in government so that we have a civil service that reflects the country it serves.
