This is a Healthwatch Portsmouth survey to find out patients’ experience of a pilot project to collocate the Extended Access Service provided by Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance (PPCA) with the services provided by Solent Community NHS on the St Mary’s Health campus.
PPCA will be relocating the entire OOH Extended Access Service to the St Marys Campus for a three-month pilot starting on 5 August 2024 until 3rd November 2024.
PPCA provides the Out of Hours (OOH) Extended Access Service (EAS), operating Monday to Friday from 18:30 to 22:30, and on weekends from 08:00 to 22:30. The OOH service offers:
- Telephone triage for cases received from NHS 111 pathways via SCAS.
- On-site patient consultations with appointments directly booked post-telephone triage or remotely by registered practices.
- Home visits for housebound and vulnerable patients triaged by PPCA clinicians.
Healthwatch Portsmouth will be speaking with patients in the waiting area who have completed their EAS OOH appointment at St Mary’s Health Campus. This will take place over 6 occasions between early August and early November.
HWP Volunteers will be present in St Mary’s Hospital on 6 occasions but at different times of the evening and at weekend to gather a range of patient experience feedback – using a HWP survey.
Included will be some demographic questions to help inform our data analysis of who completed the survey.
