Life Sciences sector survey - Grange University Hospital Medi-Park, Llanfrechfa, Torfaen



INTRODUCTION

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Torfaen County Borough Councial are developing proposals for a Medi-Park on the Grange University Hospital (GUH) site in Llanfrechfa, Torfaen as a unique opportunity to drive significant health, economy and innovation benefits in the Gwent region and beyond.
 
The  proposed GUH Medi-Park will provide a range of business, clinical, academic and development space on the site of the Grange University Hospital in Llanfrechfa, Torfaen. A central innovation hub will bring all partners together at the heart of the site.

The Medi-Park concept builds on the model for a number of similar, highly successful Research, Innovation, Science and Technology parks which are co-located with strategic hospital sites across the UK. These include Edinburgh BioQuarter, Cambridge Science Park, Manchester Science Park and Norwich Research Park.

A strong partnership has been established between Torfaen Council, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Welsh Government, Welsh Universities and the Cardiff City Region City Deal programme as the public sector development partners.
 
 
The GUH Medi-Park partnership now want to engage the Life Sciences and business sectors to seek their views on the proposed Grange University Hospital Medi-Park.
 
This survey aims to:
 
- Raise awareness of the proposed GUH Medi-Park to Life Sciences sector partners

- Assess demand from the Life Sciences sector for the GUH Medi-Park

- Define the areas of activity life sciences sector partners would want to engage with the GUH Medi-Park
 
- Begin a conversation with specific partners to shape and develop our innovation hub.
