Who we are
Healthcare Improvement Scotland - Community Engagement & Transformational Change is part of Healthcare Improvement Scotland, which sits within NHS Scotland and helps health and social care services to improve. We have a network of staff across Scotland and a central office based in Glasgow. You can find out more about our work at www.hisengage.scot
What information we collect and why
We collect basic personal data from you – including your name, contact details and areas of interest – in order to let you know about our work and ways that you can get involved. This allows us to perform our public task of supporting public involvement in health and care services.
We ask that you provide at least one method of contact so that we can get in touch with you. We only collect the minimum information that we need.
What we do with your information
From time to time we invite members of the public to provide feedback on, or share their views and experiences of, health and care services. This could be for a piece of work we are doing, or we may be supporting other NHS colleagues, the Scottish Government or another partner organisation. You could be asked to take part in a discussion group, come along to an event or complete a survey. Taking part is voluntary and, where appropriate, reasonable expenses can be covered.
We will not share your information with external individuals or organisations unless required to do so by law. We keep your personal data secure and just as long as needed. We take every reasonable precaution to ensure your information is protected from loss, theft or misuse. This includes appropriate physical security of our offices, controlled access to computer systems, and mandatory training in data protection and information security for all staff.
You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
We use SmartSurvey to capture your personal details. Your data is held on SmartSurvey for up to one month and is then securely stored on our contact database. SmartSurvey is a data processor for Healthcare Improvement Scotland and will not use or pass your personal information to others. For more information, please see SmartSurvey's privacy policy.
