The Group on Research and Innovation Policy (GRIP) is a Royal Society of Chemistry initiative set up to draw upon the knowledge and experience of our members, to ensure that UK R&I policy is informed by evidence from the chemical sciences community.
We want to hear from
you so that the RSC can feedback your valuable input to funders, government, and other stakeholders to improve the research, development, and innovation landscape.
The group will cover a breadth of policy areas, ranging from research and development funding, support for innovation, international collaboration and mobility, the research workforce, to science culture and research assessment. Those with interest, experience and/or knowledge of these areas are warmly invited to join the group.
How will it work?
The GRIP will operate mainly as a virtual communication platform between RSC staff and group members. In addition,
you can expect opportunities to:
- Attend events to discuss topical research landscape policy and network with other scientists, innovators and policymakers
- Contribute evidence to policy consultations or other policy-based forums in written or verbal form, working alongside RSC staff
- Provide input into future RSC programmes in this area and receive priority notification of the RSC’s research and innovation policy work
What is needed to join?
- Be a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry
- Act within the RSC Code of Conduct, in particular to provide independent, informed advice, avoiding actual or perceived conflicts of interest
How can you join?
- Fill in this sign-up form (it will take 5 minutes to complete)
