Thank you for taking the time to respond to this survey, which should take 5 minutes to complete. You can save your answers and return to the survey at another time.

The Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales acts independently of the Ministry of Justice, the Home Office, the police, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and the courts to champion the rights of victims and make sure they are treated fairly and correctly by the criminal justice system.

It is vitally important that we hear from victims of crime about their experiences of the CPS and the court system. This is your chance to share your views. By sharing your feedback, the Victims' Commissioner can help ensure future victims receive the support and justice outcomes they need. We would like to hear from anyone who has been a victim of crime in England and Wales that has resulted in the perpetrator of the crime being charged by the CPS.

We will analyse the information you provide and publish a report from it, which will add to the research knowledge on victims experiences of the court system. The survey is anonymous, but at the end we ask if you give permission for us to contact you via email to arrange a follow-up interview to talk about your experience with the CPS and the court system in more detail. You will be anonymous (not able to be identified) in our reporting, whether or not you choose to give us your email address at the end of this set of questions.

Please see this Privacy Policy which explains how the Office of the Victims’ Commissioner collects, uses and shares personal information.

We are keen to hear from everyone who wants to complete this survey. If you support someone who has been a victim who would like to respond but can't do so because of language, lack of internet access or other barriers, please feel free to fill in the survey with them. Alternatively, you can contact us at victims.commissioner@victimscommissioner.org.uk if you would like to request the survey in a different format. At the end of the survey we ask a question about these barriers. Your answers will help us improve future surveys.
