The NHS in east Kent has been working with partners to secure funding to develop a pioneering health hub in the heart of Thanet.
The hub is set to open this year and could offer:
· a community diagnostic centre – with MRI scans, echo cardiograms (heart scans) and blood testing providing earlier diagnostic tests close to home
· a range of community services, such as cardiac, respiratory and podiatry clinics
· a new home for St Peter’s GP practice so it can support more patients and expand its services
· same-day GP appointments for anyone registered with a Thanet GP at key times in the year, when demand is high
· support and signposting to community and voluntary sector organisations.
We want to get this right for the people of Thanet and to do that, we need to hear from local people, organisations and colleagues about what you like about these plans, any concerns you have and also about how the hub can be developed in the future.
Our plans are to refurbish the Carey Building in Northwood Road, Westwood Cross, Broadstairs. It was previously used by Christchurch College. It is next to the Westwood Cross shopping centre so has good bus services and is in an area of substantial housing growth.
You can fill in this survey without giving us your name or contact details. If you would like to be kept up-to-date as the hub is developed, or get more involved please share your name and contact details at the end of the survey.
This survey will close on Friday 28th February 2025.
If you have any questions about this survey, please contact the Patient Voice and Involvement Team at East Kent Hospitals – email: ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net or phone 01227 868605.
We look forward to hearing what you have to say.
