Welcome to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus Staff Travel Survey 2025
The Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC) Travel and Transport Group would like to gather information from staff about their journeys to work and at work, so that we can understand changing travel needs and determine how we should invest in new transport initiatives, particularly to encourage greater use of sustainable travel modes.
We would like to hear from people across the Campus and would encourage you to fill in this survey if you fit into one of these categories:
- You work for an organisation based on the campus
- You are a contractor or volunteer based on the campus for at least 2 days per week
Travel behaviours change over time and it is important we collect this information in order to understand those changes and inform future transport strategies, including annual reporting to the local planning authorities on our travel plans, and Greener NHS initiatives. THe infomation collected helps:
- to better understand the changing travel needs of our staff;
- to determine if there is a business case for investing in new transport initiatives and infrastructure for staff;
- to monitor progress against our travel plans and planning requirements;
- to collaborate with public sector partners and Cambridge-wide initiatives on improving transport data, strategies and transport provision.
The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete and the information you supply is anonymous and confidential.
Thank you for your time.

Cambridgeshire County Council, acting as the local highway authority, seeks to enhance its understanding of commuting patterns across the county to inform decision making processes. The Council are keen to understand how and where journeys are being made, identify any barriers to travel and assess factors influencing the adoption of more sustainable modes.
To achieve this, the Council conducts an annual travel survey to collect data and intends to complement it with additional insights from local employers. These supplementary data will enable a more comprehensive representation of commuter perspectives.
