Glasgow City Council will set its budget for 2019/2020 on 21st February 2019.
The purpose of setting a budget is to ensure that our spending commitments in the coming year can be met by the money we raise through grants, charges and taxes.
Currently, we estimate that our income will be short of our commitments by around £41 million. A previous version of this consultation assumed savings of £51 million. Since then, the Scottish Government has updated its budget and Glasgow’s funding has increased.
This means we will need to reduce our expenditure by this much, increase our income by this much, or a combination of the two.
Specific proposals to meet this gap will be announced nearer the time, but we want to understand what priorities people in Glasgow have. We do this through a range of methods and this survey allows you to give us your views online.
Before each of the questions you will be able to read about the priorities and income generating ideas which have be identified in our previous budget consultations. The questionnaire should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
