We would like to hear from any professionals working with or supporting autistic people. This might include social workers, care home staff, health care staff, those working in education and others.
We are seeking to understand people’s knowledge and experiences of autisitc children and adults going missing. This survey will explore your insights about:
- Why autistic people go missing
- What risks autistic people may face while missing
- The support needs of autistic missing people, with a focus on prevention of missing and support on return
- Good practice in responding to autistic people going missing
Your answers to the survey will be anonymous, however, you will be asked for your geographical area so we can better understand how experiences vary depending on circumstance and location. This survey should take around 20 minutes to complete.
The information provided by respondents will be used to inform recommendations to the police as well as guidance for professionals who work with missing autistic people. Your views may be included in external documents, including a research report and associated outputs, however any use of direct quotes will be fully anonymised and you will not be identifiable.
If you have any questions about the survey please contact Jane Hunter via e-mail: jane.hunter@missingpeople.org.uk.
