[Autism can be known as Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that affects how people perceive, communicate and interact with the world. ADHD relates to social, emotional and mental health difficulties. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder and is a range of behaviours associated with difficulties with attention span, including restlessness and hyperactivity]
Healthwatch Birmingham would like to hear from young people and their parents/carers who have experiences of ASD and ADHD assessment and diagnostic pathway.
We want to:
- Hear your experience of getting, or of trying to get, an assessment and diagnosis
- Understand the barriers or challenges you face when going through the ASD and ADHD assessment and diagnostic pathway.
- Understand what support and advice offered before and during the assessment process.
- Understand the support and advice offered after diagnosis.
Your views will provide valuable information to the NHS to improve the ASD and ADHD assessment and diagnostic pathway, and will inform the ‘Support Whilst Waiting’ offer by the Birmingham SEND Local Area Partnership. Please spare 5-10 minutes to complete this questionnaire.
The information you give us will be kept securely and treated in confidence. We will not publish any personal information that could allow anyone to identify you. We are incredibly grateful for your time and effort in completing this survey.
PLEASE COMPLETE THIS QUESTIONNAIRE BY 31st MAY 2024
