This survey is tailored for individuals who have been through the family court system, not for legal professionals. This survey includes questions surrounding topics such as domestic abuse, the family court judicial system, physical violence, and child custody arrangement as well as other topics some may find distressing.
We will use the findings from the survey to create a thorough report on people’s experiences of the family court system in Britain. No one will know who you are, as all feedback is anonymous. Please do not include any identifying information; such information will be deleted. This survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.
Above everything, we encourage you to prioritise your safety and well-being. If at any point during this survey or afterwards you become distressed, we highly recommend you reach out for immediate support.

Domestic Abuse Act 2021 - What is domestic abuse?
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 defined domestic abuse as not just physical violence, but also includes emotional, controlling, coercive and economic abuse. For the purpose of this survey, the definition of domestic abuse will be the same. The Act notes that behaviour will be deemed as “abusive” if it consists of:
(a)physical or sexual abuse;
(b)violent or threatening behaviour;
(c)controlling or coercive behaviour;
(d)economic abuse;
(e)psychological, emotional or other abuse.
It is crucial to note the behaviour can consist of a single incident or a course of conduct.
