West Derby Road Active Travel Corridor

About This Survey

Liverpool City Council want to make it easier and safer for people to walk or cycle along West Derby Road. The walking and cycling improvements extend for 2.8km and will go along West Derby Road from the Low Hill junction to Tuebrook roundabout. They will connect to Newsham Park, local schools, and health centres.

The aims of the West Derby Active Travel Corridor are to:

  • Deliver walking and cycling improvements along West Derby Road with cycle lanes that are separate from the road and the pavement
  • Increase the numbers of people walking, wheeling and cycling along West Derby Road.
  • Reduce the risk of traffic collisions for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Improve health and well-being by encouraging more people to walk and cycle.
  • Support the Council’s air quality and carbon reduction targets through increased numbers of people walking and cycling.
