Equity & Merit Scholarships: 2027/28 Application Form

Please confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarship. 

• I am a resident citizen and national of one of the following countries: Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda or Zimbabwe.
• I hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution with the required grade. My degree was awarded before September 2025.
• I have checked the list of Eligible Qualifications for Equity and Merit Scholarships and confirm that I meet all the academic entry requirements. If your institution is not listed, you are not eligible for this scholarship and should not submit an application. The scholarship uses a more limited list of recognised qualifications and institutions than those used for academic admission to the University
• I have at least two years’ professional experience related to my chosen field of study. This does not include unpaid internships or voluntary work.
• I have not previously studied outside of Africa (training of six months or less does not count). 
• I have a clear understanding of how studying at Manchester will benefit both my career and the wider community.
• I am committed to returning home and can demonstrate the potential to make a positive impact on the future of my home country.
