Consultation on the publication of Royal Court of Justice Annual Statistics

1. Introduction

0%
The Royal Court of Justice Statistics publication presents statistics on the type and volume of cases that are processed through the High Court and Court of Appeal . It also includes statistics on:
  • The Court of Appeal
  • The High Court (excluding the Family division)
  • The Office of the Official Solicitor and Public Trustee
  • The Judiciary days sat (sitting day tables)
  • Senior Courts Cost Office
The statistical release is published annually and consists of a set of documents:
  • The main bulletin, which provides key figures, explanation and commentary
  • A set of main statistical tables
  • Guidance on the information in this publication.

We currently publish these statistics every year and want to ensure these outputs are understood and valued by all of our end users. We are thinking about streamlining the publication to include only the tables our stakeholders find useful. We are therefore seeking to learn more about which tables our stakeholders use and how they use the statistics. This will help us prioritise improvements. You are invited to please complete this online survey, by 31st December 2023. This should take 5-10 minutes.

Next steps:
The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) will consider all responses to the survey questions and report back on the findings and conclusions after the survey has closed. Although we cannot guarantee that we can implement all suggestions as it will be resource-dependent, we will prioritise them and investigate what is feasible based on data, resources, and timescales.
Thank you for providing your views and helping MOJ improve the service they provide.
