Our aim

Use this form to tell us about any new, very potent, or contaminated drugs circulating in Bristol that might threaten people's health or lives.

The availability, strength, and contamination of illegal drugs changes all the time. Because these drugs are illegal, we don’t have much information about what is being sold locally. This means we may not know the risks until after a serious or fatal incident happens.

Our substance use team funds a monthly drug-checking service where people can have their drugs tested (see our support pages for more information). This service helps us learn about the local drug market and its risks, so we can better use resources and make sure support is in place to prevent overdoses and sudden deaths.

To further improve our understanding of the local drug market and help prevent serious incidents, we ask anyone concerned about a harmful drug’s availability to report it to Bristol City Council’s Public Health substance use team as soon as possible.

The information you give is confidential. It will only be used by Bristol City Council’s Public Health team and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) to inform the national Early Warning System.

Read our privacy statement to learn how we handle your personal information.
