The Canadian women's soccer team, which used a drone to spy on the opponent team's training, filed a complaint with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), claiming that it was unfair to the FIFA for "six points reduction" disciplinary action.

"The Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Football Association have appealed to FIFA for a six-point cut on the Canadian women's soccer team," CAS said on Sunday. "However, we did not request relief for a one-year suspension imposed on the coaching staff."

Canada, the "defending champion" of the Olympics, flew a drone to the opponent's training ground to gather information ahead of the first match against New Zealand in the women's soccer group stage at the Paris Olympics on the 22nd. After finding this, New Zealand officially protested to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and local police arrested a Canadian national soccer team analyst for the act.  안전놀이터

The Canadian Olympic Committee said in a statement on Monday that it had removed Joseph Lombardi, an analyst at the women's national soccer team who was involved in the drone scandal, and Jasmine Mander, its chief coach, from the team. It also suspended coach Beverly Priestman.

Currently, however, the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Football Association say that it is unfair to take disciplinary action against players with six points cut. The association described the reason for the appeal as "unbalanced disciplinary action." It added that it is not fair to take disciplinary action against players who did not participate in the event. However, the organization did not appeal against disciplinary action against the coaching staff.

Despite the controversy, Canada has secured consecutive wins in the first and second Group A matches of the women's soccer league. It beat New Zealand 2-1 on Sunday and its home team France 2-1 on Sunday. However, it has zero point due to disciplinary action. Currently, Canada is at the third place in Group A, and its advance to the quarterfinals is in jeopardy.
