Newark and Sherwood District Council is carrying out a governance review of Newark Town Council in response to the continued housing growth in the town. The current boundaries were last considered in 2017 and an East Ward was established at this time but there is still no prospect of housing development there in the near future whilst the Middlebeck development in the South Ward continues to grow.
We are inviting initial comments on the existing Ward boundaries and electoral arrangements during this first consultation period which closes on 18 February 2025 at 5pm. The Council’s General Purposes Committee will consider all the representations submitted and will formulate draft proposals which will be put out to a second period of consultation which will begin in the spring.
