NHS Ayrshire & Arran Equality Outcomes survey

We are asking for your involvement to develop the next set of equality outcomes for NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

What are Equality Outcomes?

Equality outcomes are measurable actions intended to achieve improvements in the lives of people who experience discrimination and disadvantage.  These outcomes will help improve the experiences and meet the needs of people with protected characteristics across our diverse population and workforce.

What are Protected Characteristics?

Protected characteristics include age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex, and sexual orientation and are protected from discrimination by law.

Under the Equality Act 2010, all public bodies, including the NHS, must publish equality outcomes and report on progress. Our equality outcomes must aim to:

•    Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation
•    Advance equality of opportunity
•    Foster good relations
