East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) want to ensure that patients have the best outcome from their hospital treatments and that they are as prepared as they can be for the next stage of their treatment/care. Every patient is to be offered the opportunity if they would like help with other aspects of their lives which impacts onto their lifestyle and overall wellbeing, also known as ‘Making Every Contact Count’ (MECC). This could include further advice on physical wellbeing, mobility, exercise, weight management, and smoking cessation for example.
Essex County Council are working with ESNEFT and are conducting an evaluation of the ESNEFT MECC programme.
To help us continue to improve MECC implementation within our health care settings and provide the necessary MECC training, please complete this survey so that we can evaluate the impact of MECC training; the implementation process of the ESNEFT MECC pilot, and the potential benefits of MECC to patients and other individuals (patients families/carers and staff). The information you give will be confidential so please give answers that are as honest as possible.
This is a short survey, which should take around 5 - 10 minutes to complete

Note: By ‘raising the subject of and discussing healthy lifestyles’, we also mean ‘having a MECC conversation’, applying the MECC principles in practice, or signposting to relevant services.
