Health Visitors are registered midwives or nurses, who have additional specialist community public health nursing training (SCPHN). The health visiting team is made up of Health visitors, community staff nurses and healthy child practitioners. They work with families with children aged 0 to 5 years identifying individual health needs as early as possible to improve health and wellbeing. Alongside individual support, the service offers groups for parents and toddlers at Family Hub buildings including:
· Infant feeding including breastfeeding
· Early days after the birth
· Introducing solid foods
As part of our continued drive to ensure children's services meet the needs of the Suffolk population, we are looking at how the Health Visiting service supports the needs of children and families in Suffolk. You can help by sharing your views on current services, so we understand what is important to you.
