WELCOME

Dear Colleagues,

As part of our update to safeguarding adults resources, Research in Practice are seeking examples of existing good practice in adult services. Our updated resources cover nine areas of practice in safeguarding adults and we are keen to include illustrative examples. These might be formal initiatives implemented in services, or informal developments in teams.

Some examples we have previously identified include:

A pilot project in Newcastle Upon Tyne which sought to break the link between poverty and safeguarding concerns by facilitating visible and accessible support around both through a local foodbank.

A specialist adult social care team in Manchester which is dedicated to meeting the care, support and safety needs of adults experiencing entrenched street homelessness, including those whose needs and eligibility were not previously recognised.

If you have any examples of good practice which you would be happy for us to include in these open-access resources, we would be most grateful for a short summary paragraph plus any links to relevant websites etc. If it is possible to name the service/local authority, this would also be helpful. If you would like any further information about this piece of work, or if you would prefer to share feedback by email please contact Rachel – rfitzsimons@ncb.org.uk

Thank you!
