At Missing People we are gathering evidence from people who have been missing and their families who have experienced race discrimination at the hands of the police or any other service in response to someone going missing.
We want to hear from anyone who feels like they were treated differently because of their race or ethnicity, or because of their missing person’s race or ethnicity.
The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete and you will be asked questions about who discriminated against you or your loved one; how that presented; and what needs to change. This survey is anonymous, and your answers will be stored securely. Any use of the survey findings will be fully anonymised, and quotes will only be used where they are completely non-identifiable. If you have any questions or comments about this survey, please contact research@missingpeople.org.uk.
We know that there is a silencing nature to discrimination, where people can feel unable to speak out. We would like to centre the voices and experiences of Black and minoritised ethnic communities who have experienced discrimination, including through this survey. We know that we should have done more in the past but we hope that going forward we can use our position and privilege to help to create a platform and amplify the voices of People of Colour who have experience of missing.
