We are seeking your views on a proposed Prohibition of Driving Traffic Order that would affect several interconnected streets in the centre of Kirkwall. The Order proposes to create vehicle-free periods on specific streets to improve pedestrian safety and provide a more accessible Town Centre environment for all members of our community.

The proposed changes would introduce two daily restriction windows:

• A daytime period from 11am to 3pm
• A nighttime period from 11pm to 3am

These restrictions would apply to the following streets (Click here to see a map of the affected area):

• Bridge Street
  
• Albert Street
  
• Laing Street
  
• St Olaf's Wynd
  
• Bridge Street Wynd
  

Emergency vehicle access would be maintained at all times, and the streets would operate normally outside of these restricted hours.
