We would like to invite you to help us with our research. This research is about understanding how pay and conditions within the social care sector impact on carers and their families and what this means for the Scottish Government’s priorities.

This research is being carried out by the Scottish Women’s Budget Group (SWBG) who are a charity that wants to make Scotland a more equal place by looking at how governments raise and spend money.

We are looking to speak to people who work in social care in Scotland.

If you have any questions, about the project now or as we go along you can ask these at any time by contacting Heather on training@swbg.org.uk or calling 0141 648 7673. If you decide to get involved, you can stop being involved at any time.

If you choose to get involved, we will ask you to tell us about you and your circumstances. You do not have to answer these questions if you do not want to, you can still be involved in the research. We ask these so we can present data in a way that allows us to show any impact certain characteristics may have things such as age or ethnicity.

We will not share your information with anyone, unless we are worried about you or someone else.  If we are worried abut you, we would talk to you about it.

If you decide to take part in the research, you can attend a focus group or a one to one interview.  Focus Groups take place online and will last about 2 hours, you will meet with others involved in the research along with Heather from SWBG. If you take part in an interview it will be with Heather only and will last about 45 minutes to an hour.

We would like to record meetings, so we can remember what you tell us and to inform the research, your name will not be recorded against anything we use in the research.

At the end of the project we will publish a report which we can share with you.

After your focus group or interview we will give you a voucher of £25 to thank you for your contribution.

SWBG will store information about you that allows us to get in touch with you and we will keep a copy of any information you share with us at focus groups or interviews, these will not have your name attached to them.

If you provide it we will keep information about your age, nationality etc but this will not be kept alongside your details. At the end of the research we will remove your contact details from our records.

If you have any questions about this, you can contact Sara Cowan at SWBG on Sara.Cowan@swbg.org.uk or on 0141 648 7673.
