Thank you for your interest in joining a LMS committee. We appreciate your willingness to share your time and skills with the LMS. Please complete this application form to help us understand your background, experience, skills and areas of mathematical interest.
You can find more information about LMS committees, their remits and meeting frequencies here. In making your application, please do consider which committees best fit your background and experience. Please note that LMS committee members are not eligible to apply for grants from the committees on which they serve. However, they can be co-organisers of events funded by grants from their respective committee.
This call for expressions of interest occurs twice per year, with deadlines in February and September. Expressions of interest will be considered and held by the Society for two years from the deadline of the relevant round, after which they will be no longer considered and will be deleted in accordance with the Society’s data retention schedule. Please note that when you submit an expression of interest, your personal data will be shared with current members of the relevant committee as part of the consideration process should a vacancy on that committee become available, as well as with the Finance and General Purpose Committee and Council. The ultimate decision on the filling of the vacancy will be made by Council.
As we receive a large number of applications, unfortunately we are not able to send confirmation of receipt of expressions of interest, and no feedback will normally be given on your application. If you have been successful in gaining a place on a committee you will be contacted by the Society, but please note that this may take some time and will depend on which committees have vacancies at a particular time.
