Help the BFI National Archive collect online moving image
Have you got a favourite webfilm from the last 30 years? Has a viral sensation stayed with you? Do you have fond memories of defunct video platforms like Periscope and Vine? If so, we’d like to hear from you.
We want to learn which online moving image titles - from the dawn of the internet to today - have entertained, inspired or struck a chord with people across the UK, and which you think should be added to the BFI National Archive.*
What we want:
British 'online moving image' titles, meaning work made and distributed specifically for the online or internet sphere (from the early 1990s to the present day) in the UK.
We're also trying to reflect the numerous technical developments of the online space, charting the various platforms, styles and ratios that have flourished since the dawn of the internet.
What we don’t want:
TV or films which are or have been distributed on commercial, subscription-based platforms such as Netflix, Amazon, Disney Plus.
Use the fields below to suggest up to three British online moving image titles (or bodies of work) that you think should be in the BFI National Archive.
*All suggestions are subject to meeting the BFI National Archive's Collections Policy.
