Newbald Youth Club and the Old Church Rooms

1. Introduction

In 2003 a group of villagers teamed together to form Newbald Young People’s Project (NYPP). Their goal was to provide a base, for the young people of Newbald and surrounding villages, to meet, socialise and have fun with their friends and peers. St Nicholas Church agreed to lease the old Church Rooms to NYPP for the following 35 years. Since then the NYPP committee have run a weekly youth club (during term time) and regular cookery courses.

The Youth club currently runs on a Tuesday night as 3 sessions determined by the following school years.
Session 1 - Reception, years 1, 2 & 3 from 4pm to 5pm
Session 2 - Years 4 & 5 from 5pm to 6.30pm
Session 3 - Years 6 and above from 6.30pm to 8.00pm

Subs are paid by direct debit and amount to £8 per month for session 1 and £10 per month for sessions 2 & 3.

The old Church Rooms is a great venue with a large hall, a recently modernised kitchen and a good sized outdoor space. However, the committee feel the building is under-utilised and for that reason we'd like to engage with local young people to understand how else the space can be used to benefit your social needs.

We very much appreciate your input into this survey, once we have collated and analysed the results we would like to invite you to a feedback session to hear the combined results and discuss an action plan.
