1. I would like to invite you to take part in my research study. Before you decide if you'd like to, I would like you to understand why the research is being done and what it would involve for you. The following information should explain all the details of the study, however if you do have any questions please feel free to email me at mattjohnmoody@gmail.com. This questionnaire should take about 10 minutes.

What is the purpose of the study/project?
Solar systems have many environmental, social and economic effects that may not been considered before the implementation of these systems. My paper will review the associated effects of both small and large scale solar systems by evaluating both theoretical ideas and in-use systems. This will attempt to provide further understanding for both consumers and policy makers before the implementation of solar systems. This section of the study will review opinions for solar, as well as perceived barriers for entry.

Do I have to take part?
Participation in this study is voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason. Not participating will not have any negative consequences in terms of my study or work.

What is expected from participants?
Just to answer the following questions as honestly as you can.

Will I be paid for taking part?
Answering the questionnaire grants you one entry into a prize draw to win a £5 Starbucks voucher. One entry per person. Draw takes place on 01/03/18. If you do not receive an email by 02/03/18 then unfortunately you have not won.

Will my taking part in the study/project be kept confidential?
You will need to enter your email into the questionnaire to ensure entry into the prize draw. This will not be shared with anyone and will only be used for the prize draw.

What will happen if I don’t want to carry on with the study?
Participants may withdraw at any time without any reason. It is not possible to remove data from the questionnaire so only submit information you feel comfortable disclosing.

What will happen to the results of the project?
The information gathered will be used within my dissertation to help me gain a better understanding of the associated effects of both domestic & large scale photovoltaic (solar) systems, and the effectiveness of efforts made to mitigate negative effects. The results will be published in a dissertation project. If you wish to receive the answers for the last two questions please email me.
